Champion 25-ft 30A Generator Cord (L14-30) Review
The heavy cord that connects generator to inlet box — 25 feet keeps the fumes away from the house.

The verdict
A proper 10-gauge, 4-wire 30A cord is not the place to improvise. Champion's 25-footer has the right conductors, molded locking ends, and enough length to put the generator a safe distance from windows and doors. Buy the length you need — every extra foot is voltage drop and $3.
Typical price: ~$89 (typical street price — current price shown on Amazon)

Full review
Twenty-five feet is the sweet spot: generators must run at least 20 feet from any window, door, or vent (CO kills through closed windows at closer range), and shorter cords tempt people to cheat that distance in bad weather. Locking ends matter too — generators vibrate, and a partially backed-out plug under 30 amps of load is a fire waiting for kindling.
Best for: Connecting any 30A generator to a transfer switch inlet.
