The verdict
WEN built its reputation on small budget inverters, and the TF1450X is a real departure: an 11,500-running-watt open-frame tri-fuel generator that undercuts the DuroMax XP13000HXT and Westinghouse's tri-fuel lineup on price while matching the category's core promise — gasoline, propane, or a home natural-gas line, selectable with one dial. It's louder and less proven than the established brands' flagships, but the fundamentals — a real 50A outlet, a digital data meter, and CO Watchdog auto-shutoff — are all here for meaningfully less money.

WEN's whole history in this guide has been the small, quiet 56235i inverter — so the TF1450X is a genuine departure: an 11,500-running-watt, open-frame tri-fuel machine aimed squarely at the DuroMax XP13000HXT's territory, at a few hundred dollars less. The fuel selector works the way every tri-fuel unit should: gasoline for maximum output, propane for shelf-stable storage, or a home's natural-gas line for runtime that never runs out — and WEN includes the NG quick-connect and LP hose in the box, which some competitors charge extra for.
The core numbers hold up against the class: 11,500 running watts on gasoline through a 50A outlet covers essential-circuit backup with room for a window AC, CO Watchdog auto-shutoff is standard rather than a premium trim feature, and the digital data meter gives a real read on load instead of guesswork. Natural gas derates harder than most tri-fuel units — down to 8,750 running watts, about a quarter off gasoline — so size your NG-mode expectations accordingly.
What you're not paying for is polish and pedigree. This is a conventional open-frame generator at conventional open-frame noise levels, and WEN doesn't have DuroMax's or Westinghouse's years of tri-fuel-specific reliability data behind it yet — early owner reviews are positive, but 'early' is the operative word. For a first tri-fuel purchase on a tighter budget, the TF1450X gets a genuinely useful feature set to a genuinely lower price than anything else tri-fuel we carry.
