Every power-station lineup needs a true entry point, and until now our cheapest option was the Anker SOLIX C1000 Gen 2 at $600 — real money for a first purchase. The C300 fixes that: 288Wh of the same LiFePO4 chemistry Anker uses in its flagships, in a package that weighs about as much as a sack of flour, for roughly half the C1000's price. This isn't a corner-cut version of the bigger stations — it's the same fast-charging design scaled down.

The number to understand before buying is 300W continuous output. That covers phones, laptops, a router, a CPAP, string lights, and most USB-C devices without drama, and SurgePad bumps it to 600W briefly for anything with a modest startup spike. It will not run a refrigerator, a sump pump, or a space heater — for those loads, look at the C1000 Gen 2 or above. What it will do is recharge fast: 80% in about 50 minutes from a wall outlet, which matters more for a small battery you top off between uses than for one that lives in a closet all year.

The 10ms UPS mode is the feature that elevates this from camping gadget to legitimate small backup: plug it inline with a router or a CPAP and a grid drop is invisible to whatever's on the other end. Buy the standard AC version rather than the cheaper DC-only variant listed alongside it on Amazon — the DC model drops the inverter (no true AC outlet) and the warranty shrinks from five years to three, which isn't the corner to cut on a battery you're buying specifically for reliability.
