The verdict
The C1000 Gen 2 undercuts Anker's own C2000 Gen2 by roughly $500 while keeping the feature that makes Anker's charging tech worth talking about: a full charge in under 50 minutes with UltraFast mode enabled, versus hours for most competitors at this capacity. 2,000W continuous output covers a fridge, sump pump, and electronics with room to spare, and sub-10ms UPS switching keeps a CPAP or laptop running through an outage's opening seconds. The tradeoffs are the ones you'd expect at this price: no expansion path, and a cooling fan that gets loud under sustained heavy draw.

Anker's SOLIX line built its reputation on charging speed, and the C1000 Gen 2 is where that obsession pays off at a genuinely approachable price. With UltraFast mode enabled in the app, a full charge from empty takes under 50 minutes from a wall outlet — competitors in this capacity class routinely take two to three hours. That matters more than it sounds: a battery you can top off during a lull in the storm instead of overnight is a fundamentally different ownership experience.
At 2,000W continuous (3,000W surge) it handles the classic outage lineup — refrigerator, sump pump, modem, a space heater or window unit — and the sub-10ms UPS mode means a laptop or CPAP plugged in through it won't even blink when the grid drops. Under 25 pounds, it's also one of the easier 1kWh-class stations to actually carry to wherever the outage calls for it.
The honest tradeoffs are the ones a $599 price point buys: no add-on battery modules if your needs grow, and a cooling fan that owners say gets genuinely loud under sustained fast charging or heavy draw — tolerable in a garage, less so in a bedroom. Against Anker's own C2000 Gen2 the calculus is capacity versus price: the C2000 doubles the watt-hours for roughly double the money. If your backup plan is a fridge and a few essentials for a day, not a house running for a week, the C1000 Gen 2 is the smarter buy.
